My clock is showing the wrong time. How can I set it correctly?

If your clock is connected to your internet router via Wi-Fi, the time is set automatically. No manual adjustment is required.

If your clock is not connected to an internet router, you can connect to it directly and set the time manually via the configuration interface.

The clock then maintains excellent timekeeping accuracy thanks to its internal clock. In the event of a power cut, the time is retained by the CR2032 coin-cell battery fitted at the back of the device.

In this case, check the condition of the coin-cell battery located at the back of the clock.

If necessary, replace it with a new CR2032 battery.

If you do not have a replacement battery available, you can connect your clock to your internet router via Wi-Fi. It will automatically retrieve the correct time each time it restarts.

Yes. When your clock is connected to the internet via your router, daylight saving time changes (summer/winter time) are handled automatically.

In direct connection mode (without an internet router), you will need to adjust the time manually when the clocks change seasonally.

Yes. When your clock is connected to the internet, you can select your preferred time zone via the configuration interface.

In direct connection mode, the time must be set manually.

Yes. An option lets you display the seconds as digits from 0 to 9, making the display more lively and dynamic.

How can I customise my clock (colours, messages, display schedules, etc.)?

Once connected to your clock (directly or via your Wi-Fi network), you can access a comprehensive configuration interface that allows you to:

  • Choose the display colour;
  • Enable or disable the seconds display;
  • Configure energy-saving mode;
  • Set the display times and duration of predefined messages;
  • Customise a scrolling message;
  • Adjust advanced brightness settings.

The time display can be set to one of 9 colours:

  • White
  • Blue
  • Red
  • Green
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Purple
  • Cyan
  • Magenta

In the Expert menu, you can set three brightness levels:

  • Low Brightness
  • Medium Brightness
  • High Brightness

Each level can be adjusted on a scale from 1 to 255.

Two ambient light thresholds allow the clock to automatically adjust its brightness according to the lighting in the room.

Yes.

Energy-Saving Mode lets you set a time period (for example, from 10 pm to 6 am) during which:

  • the brightness is greatly reduced (partial ECO mode);
  • the display is completely switched off (full ECO mode).

Yes. This mode automatically reduces power consumption and brightness during time periods set by the user.

How long are predefined messages displayed for?

The display duration can be adjusted via the configuration interface.

You can choose a duration of:

  • 5 minutes
  • 10 minutes
  • 15 minutes

Predefined Messages

Predefined messages temporarily replace the time display at scheduled times that you can configure.

They are built into the clock’s letter layout and therefore cannot be modified.

Examples:

  • IT’S SNACK TIME
  • IT’S APERITIF TIME

Depending on the LUMOTIC clock model and generation, some messages may vary.

Custom Message

The custom message is a scrolling text that can be configured via the settings interface.

It can contain up to 30 characters and is displayed automatically at regular intervals.

The number of times the message scrolls can also be adjusted.

Yes, subject to certain conditions.

The custom message can contain:

  • Up to 30 characters;
  • Uppercase letters;
  • Numbers ;
  • Spaces ;
  • Hyphens.

The following characters are not supported:

  • Lowercase letters;
  • Accented letters;
  • Special characters.
How can I check that all the LEDs are working properly?

The Expert menu includes an LED Test function that allows you to check each LED individually to ensure it is working properly.

If you notice a malfunction, please contact LUMOTIC customer support via the website.

Yes.

From the Expert menu, you can update the internal software (firmware).

To use this feature, your clock must be connected to your internet router via Wi-Fi.

The currently installed version is displayed in the Expert menu.

You can compare it with the latest version available on the LUMOTIC website, under Firmware Updates.

I don’t have an internet router. How can I access my clock’s settings?

The clock can operate in direct connection mode.

During startup

  1. The IP message flashes: the clock is searching for a previously configured Wi-Fi network.
  2. The CONFIG message appears: the clock is ready to receive Wi-Fi network settings.
  3. The DIRECT message appears: the clock activates its own Wi-Fi network.

To connect:

  1. Temporarily disconnect your phone or computer from your usual Wi-Fi network.
  2. Find the clock’s Wi-Fi network:

LUMOTIC_XXXXXX

  1. Connect using the password:

LUMOTIC40

  1. Open your web browser and enter:

http://192.168.4.1

You can then access the full configuration interface.

First, restart the clock:

  1. Unplug the power supply.
  2. Wait 5 seconds.
  3. Plug the clock back in.

During startup, the clock displays an IP message followed by one or more digits (1 to 3 digits assigned by your router).

For example:

IP 45

This means the clock’s IP address is:

192.168.1.45

Enter this address in your web browser to access the configuration interface.

Please note: some internet routers or Wi-Fi repeaters use a different address range from that of 192.168.1.xxx. In this case, use the network prefix corresponding to your setup.
